Julian duly completed the London Marathon on 17th April.
Although he had problems with his knee in the lead up to the event he completed the course in 5 hours 3 minutes and 1 second.  Julian says 'what kept me going was the thought of all the money that people had kindly pledged as well as the terrific London crowds who were cheering all the runners on every step of the way.  Barnardo's, like all charities in the present climate, need all the money that they can and the sum of around £2,500 that I have raised will be put to good use in their projects.  Many thanks to everyone who sponsored me'.
Having had the reaction 'never again' on crossing the line, Julian has now foolishly decided that he needs to run another marathon, when he is fit, to break 5 hours!
